Corina, founder and CEO of Vegallia, joined Branches’ Micro-Business Program during an exciting time in the life of her business, but a difficult time in her personal life. Corina’s homemade, plant-based gelato was gaining serious attention and her sales were growing. Her product was such a hit in local markets that she was granted the opportunity to sell Vegallia products in larger supermarkets, like Sedanos. However, selling in these markets required a large up-front investment for nutritional labels. Through Branches’ micro-grant partnership with Amerant Bank, we were able to provide a grant to help her cover the increased cost of supplies. This removed a huge barrier for Corina and opened up new opportunities for her business to grow.
