Miami Non-Profit Leader Chosen for National Latino Fellowship Program

The National Association for Latino Community Asset Builders (NALCAB) recently announced that Christine Coronado has been named a 2020 NALCAB Pete Garcia Community Economic Development fellow. Christine currently serves as Assistant Manager of Financial Capability here at Branches.
Branches’ 19th Annual Thanksgiving to Deliver Nearly 5,000 Meals to Families in Need

On November 28th, 2019, Thanksgiving morning, Branches plans to cook, package and deliver nearly 5,000 hot meals to needy individuals and families from 9 different sites throughout Miami-Dade and Broward counties. This is the largest meal delivery effort in Florida on Thanksgiving Day. Over 800 volunteers give of their time on Thanksgiving morning by putting together individual meals via assembly lines and passing them off to volunteer drivers who deliver them.
VITA Volunteers Wanted: Changing Lives One Tax Return at a Time

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program is a national initiative to offer accurate, secure, and free tax help, to lower income households. Branches has once again been chosen by the IRS to lead VITA for the 2020 tax season in Miami-Dade County. The Miami-Dade VITA coalition known as Miami Tax Pros, is group of 23 local organizations that operates over 50 free tax preparation sites offering services from North Miami to Florida City and some of the keys.
Branches to Throw 3rd Annual Back to School Bash in Coral Gables on August 8th, 2019

On Thursday, August 8th from 6pm-8pm, Branches will celebrate its 3rd Annual Back to School Bash at the University of Miami’s Newman Alumni Center in Coral Gables. Over 100 guests are expected to attend to help raise funds so Branches’ Grow & Climb programs’ children and youth can g back to school well-equipped and ready to learn.

More than 500 guests attended the event and helped raise over $400,000 for Branches’ programs focused on long-term personal success.

Branches Continuing to Serve Hundreds of Federal Workers in Need Affected by Government Shutdown

Branches has been extremely busy serving hundreds of federal workers in Miami who have been affected by the Government Shutdown. Almost two weeks ago, Branches’ Financial Wellness team served at the Miami International Airport, providing information about critical financial resources to TSA employees. Last week, Branches served alongside Feeding South Florida at their distributions and once again provided resources and information about assistance for government employees.
