On Thursday, August 5th from 6:00pm-8:00pm, Branches, a local nonprofit dedicated to providing life-changing opportunities to children, youth and families, will celebrate its 5th Annual Back to School Bash at Elks Lodge in South Miami. Sponsors and guests will help raise funds so Branches’ Grow and Climb programs’ children and youth can go back to school well-equipped and ready to learn.
Branches Receives Laptop Donation from UnitedHealthcare to Assist Working Families and Children Who Need Computer Access

Branches, a local nonprofit organization based in Miami providing life-changing opportunities to help families and their children break the cycle of poverty, recently received a donation of 55 laptops from UnitedHealthcare. This incredible donation will provide laptops to all three Branches locations, Branches Lakeview in North Miami, Branches South Miami and Branches Florida City, currently serving 450+ children and youth.

Branches, a local nonprofit organization based in Miami providing life-changing opportunities to help families and their children break the cycle of poverty, was selected as a Project Innovation Grantee by Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation this past year. Branches’ Climb to College & Career youth program was chosen to receive $30,000 from the Foundation which falls under the Youth Education and Empowerment category. Since receiving the grant, Branches has been able to serve and continue serving its youth throughout the Pandemic and is proud to share that they now support 42 current college students, all first generation.
Miami Corporate Partners and Philanthropists Join Branches for the First Virtual Gala and Online Auction

On Thursday, April 29th at 7pm, Branches, a local non-profit dedicated to providing life-changing opportunities to working families and their children, will celebrate its 18th Annual Black Tie & Blue Jeans Virtual Gala and Online Auction. Hundreds of guests are expected to tune in to watch the show and help raise funds for Branches’ programs focused on long-term success.

On November 26th, 2020, Thanksgiving morning, Branches plans to cook, package and deliver nearly 5,000 hot meals to needy individuals and families from 6 different sites throughout Miami-Dade and Broward counties. This is the largest meal delivery effort in Florida on Thanksgiving Day. Just a few hundred volunteers will give of their time on Thanksgiving morning by putting together individual meals via assembly lines and passing them off to volunteer drivers who deliver them. Branches had to extremely limit the number of volunteers this year in order to ensure all COVID-19 safety precautions are being followed, however meals will still be provided as they are needed this year more than ever before.

September 18, 2020 – In response to the economic crisis that has resulted from the COVID-19 Pandemic, Amerant has awarded Branches a grant in support of its Micro-Business Program. Amerant’s Micro-Grant Program looks to help most vulnerable ‘mom and pop’ shops and sole proprietors who have no access to PPP or other type of loan assistance.

In response to the economic crisis that has resulted from the coronavirus pandemic, NALCAB – The National Association for Latino Community Asset Builders awarded Branches a $15,000 grant for its work focused on financial wellness including financial coaching and micro-business services.

In an effort to support organizations working to improve their communities, BrightView Landscapes has created a new Social Justice Fund and awarded Branches a grant for its efforts, including those focused on providing hot meals for the Florida City community.

As the coronavirus outbreak affects restaurants, small businesses, and everyday life, South Florida charities are also taking a hit. One of these charities is Branches, a local non-profit dedicated to providing life-changing opportunities for children and families to break the cycle of poverty. Branches has canceled their Black Tie & Blue Jeans Gala and Auction, their largest fundraiser for the year originally scheduled for May 9th.
