Miami Tax Pros
Branches proudly leads Miami Tax Pros, the local Miami-Dade VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Coalition, in partnership with the IRS. The coalition is comprised of 13 nonprofit organizations operating 37 free tax preparation sites throughout Miami-Dade County. In 2026, Branches and our partners helped 9,845 individuals file their taxes, which secured $11.3 million in tax refunds for hard-working families and individuals who need it the most.
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is a nationwide IRS initiative that provides accurate, secure, and free tax preparation services to eligible individuals and families.
IRS-certified volunteers prepare and electronically file basic federal income tax returns at no cost. Each return is carefully reviewed for quality and accuracy. Volunteers also help taxpayers claim valuable credits for which they may qualify, including the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), Child Tax Credit (CTC), education credits, and other available tax benefits.
Do You Qualify?
You may qualify to have your taxes prepared for free at a VITA site if one or more of the following applies:
- Your annual household income is generally $69,000 or less.
- You speak limited or no English.
- You are a person with a disability
- You are age 60 or older
Eligibility may also depend on the complexity of your tax return and the services available at each location.

Individuals and families earning less than $89,000 may also prepare and electronically file their own federal and state tax returns at no cost through MyFreeTaxes.
